Acceptance

By using Easy PDF Visual Signer, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Not a Legal E-Signature Service

This tool adds a visual signature to a PDF. It does not provide cryptographic signing, certificate-based authentication, audit trails, or compliance with electronic signature legislation such as the ESIGN Act, UETA, or eIDAS. For legally binding electronic signatures, use a certified e-signature provider.

What This Tool Is Designed For

Easy PDF Visual Signer is appropriate for situations where both parties have agreed to accept a visual signature and where no statute mandates a certified electronic signature. Examples include:

  • Personal documents and internal approvals within an organization
  • Freelance contracts, service agreements, and NDAs between parties who know each other
  • Forms where you are filling in your name, initials, or a date field
  • Single-session, single-signer documents (multiple fields on one document are supported)
  • Situations where tamper evidence — a SHA-256 document hash, signing timestamp, and IP address recorded on an appended audit page — is sufficient for the other party

What This Tool Is Not Designed For

Do not use this tool in situations where a certified or legally mandated electronic signature is required, or where its architectural limitations would make it inappropriate. Specifically, this tool does not support:

  • Multi-party signing workflows — there is no envelope routing, no signer invitation, and no way to enforce signing order. If two or more people must sign independently, use a certified e-signature service.
  • Wills, trusts, and powers of attorney — these instruments typically require wet-ink signatures, witnesses, or notarization under applicable law.
  • Real estate transactions — closing documents are subject to state-specific requirements that may mandate certified electronic signatures or notarization.
  • Court filings and legal pleadings — courts specify their own accepted signature formats; a visual image is generally not compliant.
  • EU documents requiring eIDAS compliance — Advanced Electronic Signatures (AdES) or Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) require a certificate-based infrastructure this tool does not provide.
  • Notarized documents — notarization requires a notary public and cannot be replicated with a visual signature tool.
  • Identity verification — this tool does not verify who is using it. The signer IP address recorded in the audit page is informational only and does not constitute KYC or identity authentication.
  • Third-party verifiability — the audit page and document hash provide tamper evidence, but there is no neutral timestamp authority (RFC 3161) or certificate chain a third party can independently verify without the original file.

If you are unsure whether visual signatures are legally sufficient for your document, consult a qualified attorney before proceeding.

Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the documents you sign and for ensuring that visual signatures are appropriate for your intended use. Do not use this tool for documents where a certified electronic signature is legally required.
